SOUTH COCKERINGTON PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE MEETING   - DRAFT

Monday 12th September 2022 at Grimoldby Village Hall at 7.30 pm

 

Present   -Cllr S Needham (Chair), Cllr S Wood, Cllr B Batman  

1. APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE

2. MATTER OF IMMEDIATE CONCERN

  (2.1) Due to the death of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday 8th September 2022 the Chair declared that the meeting would be kept as short as possible.  The Chair gave thanks for the service and commitment the Queen has given to the country during her 70 year reign. 

A minutes silence was observed.

The Church bells were rung on Friday 9th September at noon along with the rest of the nation.  The declaration of King Charles III was attended by the Chair at Tedder Hall on Sunday 11th September 2022.

6. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETINGS

   (6.1) Minutes of Annual Parish meeting held 12th May 2022 at Grimoldby Village   Hall,  at 7.00pm proposed Cllr B Batman and seconded by Cllr S Wood. Agreed

7. MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES.

  (7.1) The jubilee celebrations were a success even though the venue had to be moved indoors due to the inclement weather.  Thanks were given to all the councillors for their help in the organisation of the event.

8. FINANCE REPORT

 (8.1) £650.29 has been received after it was highlighted that the funds were sat in a dormant National Savings account in the name of South Cockerington Produce society.  This society existed in the 1970/80’s after which the committee ceased to exist and the funds remained in the account.  The funds are now available for the benefit of the village.

(8.2) Current overall balance is £4262.09 Business Account £2260.73   SCPCC Account £2001.36.

 (8.3) No outstanding Invoices.

9 CORRESPONDANCE REPORT

 (9.1) Councillors confirmed receipt of the weekly LALC updates and the electronic copy of LALC News

 (9.2) No other outstanding correspondence

10 PLANNING MATTERS

(10. 1)   No new planning applications have been received.

11 MATTERS APERTAINING TO PARISH BUSINESS

 (11.1) Culvert outside Brambly Hedge, South View Lane repaired by Highways Dept

 (11.2) Potholes on St Leonard’s Lane repaired.

12 DATE OF NEXT MEETING

 Arranged for 7.30 pm Monday 12 December.

 Provisional dates for other meetings are Monday 9th January 2023 and Mon 18th May 2023
