SOUTH COCKERINGTON PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE MEETING   

Wednesday 8th May 2024 at Grimoldby Village Hall at 7.30 pm

 

Present   - Cllr S Needham (Chair), Cllr S Wood, Cllr P Hope, Ms J Beilby, Mr R Bell

  

1.   APOLOGIES FOR ABSENCE – None

2.   DISCLOSURE OF INTERESTS   - None

3.   CO-OPTION OF COUNCILLORS

(3.1) Cllr P, Hope proposed Ms J Beilby should be co-opted onto the Parish Council,          Seconded Cllr S Wood. Agreed unanimously.

(3.2) Cllr S Needham proposed that Mr R Bell should be co-opted onto the Parish Council’ Seconded by Cllr S Wood. Agreed unanimously

 (3.3) Both Ms J Beilby and Mr R Bell completed the appropriate Declaration of acceptance of office forms witness by the Clerk and in so doing became members of the Parish Council   

4. PUBLIC QUESTIONS / PRESENTATIONS

 (4.1) None

5. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING 15th January 2024

  (5.1) Proposed Cllr S Needham, seconded by Cllr S Wood. Agreed

6. MATTERS ARISING FROM MINUTES

 (6.1) Clerk had written to the Editor of the Village News informing him that having considered the request for £300 to continue receiving the Village News the Council felt unable to raise the Parish Precept by 30% in order to meet his request.  That a search of the Parish Council Minutes had revealed no record of anything other the occasional voluntary financial contribution having been made. The Clerk had also received confirmation from the Editor that he had been unable to find any record of an agreement to pay for copies of the Village News.

7. FINANCE REPORT

 (7.1) Current overall balance is £4558.47 Business Account £2290.41   SCPCC Account £2267.06. Precept for 2024-25 had been received from ELDC and paid into SCPCC on 15 April 2024

 (7.2) Outstanding Invoices.  Village Hall Hire £20 for 8.5.2024;

 (7.3) .Proposed by Cllr Hope and Seconded by Cllr S Wood to make an ex-gratia payment t£50 garden vouchers to the External Auditor who has once again carried out the task free of charge for the Parish Council. Agreed unanimously         Action Clerk

 8.  CORRESPONDANCE REPORT

 (8.1) Councillors confirmed receipt of the weekly LALC updates and the electronic copy of LALC News.

(8.2) Correspondence associated with election for Office of Police Commissioner had been received and displayed as required.

 9. PLANNING MATTERS

 (9.1) None

10. MATTERS APERTAINING TO PARISH BUSINESS

(10.1) None
